Started mid-morning on a typical hot and humid day for the summer. Not on any training schedule or particular shape for doing this but wanted to set an FKT for women on this route. Someone can definitely go faster. I recommend trying this route on a non-weekend day.
Easy route mostly to follow and pretty runnable. Only one turn where I got confused and went off track on the route for 5 minutes or so. Specifically, this is a right turn and happens between mile 3 and 4. Constantly got eaten by bugs on my shoulder blades and had to stop to let off-road vehicles by. Otherwise the run was quite consistent with a slower second half on the way back during the out and back. Brought 2+ liters of water with Tailwind and recommend doing so with no streams or the river nearby to fill up. The river also doesn’t have much of a current and the environment is very much swamp like. Happy with the effort as my hydration and nutrition felt ample for the route and conditions. Brought a bar, GU packs, and salt tabs.
Only have run in this area once awhile ago and did only part of this route along with other trails within the park.
Solo and unsupported.
