This is a nice, well maintained paved trail. It was easy to follow and well marked. It winds through farmland, neighborhoods, marsh land and past a quarry. It’s was nice and shady and tree lined most of the way. There were quite a few times I had to stop to cross traffic. It’s May and I enjoyed seeing trilliums along the path. The aroma of the honeysuckle was really lovely at times. I started the route on the Hartland side and ended in Menomonee Falls side where I enjoyed a tasty treat after my run at Fiddleheads!
My only criticism is that was was no real public parking access on either side. With no proper trailhead to speak of on the Hartland side I was given permission to park in a business parking lot thankfully, otherwise I probably would have parked a half mile away at the ice age public parking trailhead. The Menomonee Falls side would at least have more options for street parking.
I brought more than enough water. I had 3 spring energy gels and 2 salt fast chews.
