I began from Gjevilvasshytta at about 9:10 AM. I started the GPS-watch while touching the door frame of the entrance to the cabin, to be exact about the starting location.

The weather was very hot, but manageable for the first third of the course. Beautiful terrain to run in. I followed the trail to Jøldalshytta, the first checkpoint of the route, and continued after touching the main entrance of the cabin. I was about 1 minute behind the previous record by Sverre Solligård, and I only took time to snap a photo.

The temperature got hotter during the second leg, but I managed to keep a steady pace. I arrived at Trollheimshytta at about 2 minutes behind the previous record. Again I touched the main entrance of the cabin as the second checkpoint.

The third leg consists of steeper terrain that suits me better, but the long uphill was completely dried out without any creeks to get water. I struggled a lot during this ascent because of the heat. At the highest point I was still not getting any gap to the previous FKT, and I was unsure whether I would make it. Luckily, I came across both creeks and snow after this point, so I could hydrate and cool down a particularly overheated body and head.

During the last part of the course I managed to pull ahead, and I was happy to finish in 05:40:04, setting a new FKT by about 7 minutes.

PS: As noted in a comment on this route, there has been two faster performances than what has been listed at fastestknowntime.com. Ola Hovdenak finished in 05:59:43 in 2013 (https://www.adressa.no/nyheter/trondelag/i/bzP7X5/fem-timer-og-femtini-…), and Sverre Solligård finished in 05:47:14 in 2020 (https://www.facebook.com/svorkmonoifriidrett/posts/2796662983925461). The latter is what I refer to as the "previous record" in my report. It is however unknown to me whether these performances where unsupported or self-supported.
