This FKT has been on my bucketlist for quite some time now. Attempted it previously with the wheels coming off in the last 10k. I went back to the drawing board. This time around my pacing was way better. I paced myself according to HR instead of actual pace. I also revisited my nutrition plan. I increased the amount of food I take in during the run. Not always easy, especially as the run progress I can barely keep food down. I was also more disciplined on my hydration - only taking small amounts at regular intervals to avoid over-hydration. I am glad I decided to add the 2 liter bladder as it made the resupply to my softflasks way faster. There is one stream on the route that has a reliable source of water, but other than that I carried what I needed from the start. Finished the last drop of water during the final 2km. All in all I am happy to see the hard work has paid off.
P.S. Post-race I bought a 500ml coca-cola and was the second-best one I had in my entire life!
