We are a husband and wife team that has been dreaming of completing the SoCal triple crown for quite some time. On Aug. 5, 2026 we set out to do just that. At 3:02AM we set out on the Bear Canyon Trail to summit Mt. San Antonio (Baldy). We reached the summit just before sunrise at 5:50AM and after a moment of soaking in the view headed down the steep trail back to the car. We filled bottles and stocked our packs then loaded up and drove to the Vivian Creek Trailhead.

We started out on the Vivian Creek trail at 9:18AM and reached the summit of Mt. San Gorgonio at 12:43PM. Back at the car we filled bottles, packed our fuel for the next leg knowing it was going to take a lot of effort to drive and hike yet another peak. After a bit of a break and an hour and a half drive to Idyllwild, we felt a little better about tackling Mt. San Jacinto.

We started hiking from the Humber Park Trailhead up Devil's Slide Trail at 5:44PM with some extra layers and headlamps in our packs knowing we would be headed into the night. Our pace slowed down quite a bit but we managed to hit the summit at 9:02PM that same day (8/5/26) just after dark. The descent was slow on tired legs and a rocky trail but we managed it. We arrived at our car at 12:22AM on Aug. 6th making the total elapsed time 21 hours and 22 min.

The two of us stayed together the entire journey matching each others pace. We ate and drank from supplies we packed in our vehicle and did not receive support outside of that.

According to the data collected by my Coros watch our milage totaled: 45.21 and elevation gain totaled: 15,480 feet

Total drive time in between legs was about 2 hrs 40 min
