Mount Tuk is a very recognizable peak from down below in the town of Moab. It is amazing that you can be above 12,000 feet looking down at canyon walls. I had only climbed Mount Tuk with snow before, so I scouted the route one day prior to see what it would look like dry. The upper section, while not technical climbing has surprisingly tech-y footing when trying to run up/ down. And the lower switchbacks are hard to commit to because there are so many of them and the trail has loose kitty litter gravel on it. Once you build up some speed, you immediately have to slow down to turn. I didn't bring any food or water for an effort this short. The leaves were amazing! Highly recommend checking out the La Sals in the fall time.

I think there should be a roundtrip category under this FKT. Ascent time was 45:31, and my roundtrip time was 1:19:47.
