A fine way to start the day - cool of the early morning, accompanied by a sprinkling of runners, striders, dogs and bikes - before enjoying this captivating gem of a city.  The route follows the top of the walls,  except when it drops to pass through a park outside the fort in the SE corner.   There are also three occasions when roads have to be crossed when they enter the city and cut through the walls. We started at the Porta Paola in the middle of the South side, but the route could be started at any point.   Our youngest team player was aged 12 and prefers footbal, so we expect our time to be beaten in due course.
