I followed the direction given by Wanderwege Schweiz and started in Plaffeien and finished in Gurnigel Bad. The Weather was good (contrary to what the forecast predicted). The route consists mostly of great trails and even better views. The final ascent to the Schüpfeflue really bites and the following descent down to Gurnigel Bad awaits with technical terrain, especially when wet. I'm well aware that my time isn't that competitive but maybe it will motivate some of you mountain goats to give the route a well deserved try!
Note: On the Gägger, the route on site was labelled slightly differently than on the map provided by Wanderland Schweiz, but the official text describing the route already mentions the new routing over the wooden construction ("...und weiter über den Gäggersteg (Sturmholzsteig) zur Süftene"). See provided pictures. I followed the signposts on site, since it appears to be the new official route and somebody without gps-watch wouldn't be able to know the earlier routing. I guess the difference between the old and the new routing would be in the seconds anyway.
