I set off in the morning, cycling the 12 km that separated me from the start of the trail. In the end, I began at 7:30.
The route turned out to be beautiful, varied, and far from easy. The climbs are tough, and so are the descents—some sections are quite technical, while others are on asphalt and really hard on the knees.
Water is fairly easy to find along the way; I refilled my flasks in restrooms and at vending machines. I also made two short food stops at small shops along the route.
The first part runs through forests, while the second features more temples and historical sections. I met many people along the way—the trail is well-known and incredibly scenic.
