For a few weeks I've been raising awareness of mental health and the stigma that surrounds it. So I came up with a challenge to set a FKT up the Taff Trail then continue the journey covering a additional 100 miles in 24 hours, which I also completed. I knew it would mean a fast first 55 miles and then to carry on would take some serious will power. When I arrived in Brecon after completing the Taff trail I headed up towards Penyfan and back to Cardiff via the mountains. The weather was horrific all day, I think it stopped raining for 60 minutes in total. My good friend's supported me throughout, putting up with anger, anguish and pain but together we got it done.
The Taff trail itself is very heavy under foot due to the amount of tarmac but once you hit the mountains near the beacons the beauty is next to none.
I had to make a couple of deviations due to flooding but nothing significant.
