Started from Phillips Bench at 4:20 am on May 2nd. Decent refreeze with some punchy snow before Phillips canyon and below 9k’ in paintbrush canyon. widespread breakable crust on northerlies made for challenging skiing on race skis. I passed another group of three friends out on the Crest trail near the head of moose creek.
A memorable day of ski touring.
