Welsh 3000s

After leaving from below Pen Y pass I headed up and started from the Snowden Summit in pretty grim rain with a fair wind. I then followed the ridge to Crib Y Ddysgl and across to Crib Goch before heading down the saddle towards Gwastadnant. From here I went along the road before heading up Elidir Fawr from Nant Peris. The weather cleared a bit going around to Y Garn but the wind picked up again as I got onto the Glyders. Took the steep right hand route down from Glyder Fach before heading up Tryfan. The weather improved a lot going along the road before a sweaty climb up Pen Yr Ole Wen. From here a slight tail wind aided me towards the finish.

This was my second attempt at the 3000s after the first one was abandoned with 70mph winds and hail on the summits...in July...

The weather started in a similar vein to last time which was very off putting when hiking up to start from Snowden but luckily improved significantly (although wind was still gusting at a high rate of knots). The route on my watched recorded a much longer distance (around 44-45km)  than the GPX file.

A very tough day out but worth it by the end!
