Sunday 9th June Started in Walhalla 7.17 am from Ned Stringer Park, finished at Baw Baw 11 hours, 36 minutes later...
The plan was to leave early on Sunday morning as I was expecting to take at least 9 hours and i didn't want to still be going in the evening when temperatures were tipped to go to zero. After car camping at Walhalla I set off from Ned Stringer Park carrying all the food, water and gear i would need for the entire journey. It wasn't long before it started raining and would not stop until reaching Mt. St Gwinear many hours later. Absolutely stunning scenery along the route especially from Mushroom Rocks onwards. Pity about the leeches though, numerous bites on the legs and one behind the ear. The beer at the end was totally worth it and the snowfall in the evening and next day totally capped off a great solo adventure.
