As planned, I left Hendaye on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. I hiked the HRP following its original route, or classic route, which the track is posted on the FKT website. During the first few days, I suffered from tendonitis in my left leg, and later, storms did me to stop in the afternoons, which forced me to change my plans, and in the last few days, I began hiking at night.
Finally, I arrived in Banyuls in 21 days, 13 hours, and 46 minutes, having covered a total of 821 km and 47,031 meters of elevation gain.
This was my second time on this route; it's spectacular; I wouldn't tire of visiting the hidden spots hidden in the Pyrenees. After 11 years, I've been surprised by the increase in hikers who are taking up this route. I think everyone has their own way and philosophy of traveling, and for all of us who like to do it as quickly as possible, it's a good way to test ourselves and visit what so many of us love.
