I started my route a tad after 5 am from my apartment which is right next to the route. I carried two handheld water bottles for the duration of the route and refilled at 5 stops along the way where my friend Sean met to crew me at. The longest stretch between aid was from Falls Lake Dam to Buffalo Rd. Athletic Park (11ish miles) and that was during the heat of the day.
I had some issues with navigation early on which slowed me down. My nutrition fell off a tad towards the end because I was so focused on moving efficiently & forgot to eat a gel between miles 21-33. This resulted in a late bonk and a forced walk at mile 45.
Overall, this was a great tour of the Raleigh Greenway system and one I look forward to maybe doing again one day. Thanks for a killer route, Karl!
