Cheeky nab of the "FKT" from my friend Lukas (even though Ihor and I did this route the year prior lol). Just saw he posted this... and I realized that he drove the extra 500m to the washout... so I cropped my Strava to match ;) shaved a few minutes off from the "new" start point rather than starting from the trail sign.

I sandbagged Lukas a little and told him I did just over 9 hours... he told me "no FKT's will be harmed tomorrow" then he proceeded to juuuust go sub-9 "coincidentally" LOL! Couldn't resist uploading this.

Awesome day out with Ihor, always fun to get out and explore the backyard. This was my third time up to the summit of Slesse.

We almost got hit with rocks trundled by some idiotic climbers above us as they descended from climbing NE Buttress. Said they saw us earlier but didn't think we were coming up... and then proceeded to NOT call out before loosing rocks. Thankfully we ducked under cover in time.

We pushed the pace on the up, took our time on the up (summit in ~4h48m), took our time down the raps and scrambling, and blasted down the trail. Maybe could do a little faster but not by much if I'm going to enioy the day. This was a good balance of effort, conversation, and showing Ihor some rope skills.

Water re-supply at the stream at ~5km on the way up and down. Carried maybe 3 cams, alpine draws, slings, nuts, and a 30m 7.9mm rope paired with a 30m RAD line for rappels. 1 simul-climbing pitch up and 2 rappels down.
