Set out from Maritime Museum at noon on Sunday, June 1st. Legs burned heading up downtown hills so tried to keep pace easy until climbed past winter garden and onto rugby pitches. Opened up stride heading to Mt. Eden then powerhiked up the slopes. Several grassy paths closed for trail maintenance and construction so followed signage even with Garmin navigation buzzing at me. Beautiful panorama from top of Mt. Eden with lots of families up high enjoying it. Got back into gear for run thru Cornwall Park and lumbered up One Tree Hill for the lap around the summit car park. Stopped for another beautiful view before following Auckland Council's path map downslope along paved path as recommended by Auckland Council's path map to Jellicoe Park then onto Onehunga Bay Reserve where I clocked out at 1h 23m 23s with a foot in saltwater. Big smile before turning around and retracing my steps back north.
Rocked my Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24's and they handled course well. Toughest part scaling slick grassy slopes on Mt. Eden. Carried Osprey Duro 15 ruck with 0.5L of water and a Clif Bar. Just right for the conditions.
