FKT: Greg Nance - Cartagena Caribbean Coast (Colombia) - 2023-02-10

Began with a foot in the sea at the far southwestern terminus of Cartagena’s Caribbean coast at El Laguito and began heading northeast alongside the coastline. During the 9.15 miles traversed the lagoon, Bocagrande, Centro, Walls of Cartagena, El Cabrero, Marbella, Crespo, then past Canal Bocana to finish on the Via al Mar bridge after crossing Boca La Boquilla.

Carried my Osprey Duro 14L with water and electrolytes and rocked Brooks Glycerin 20’s which felt great on the pavement and gravel trails.

Beautiful evening — 79F with a refreshing sea breeze (a few gusts soaked me along the rocky jetty) — and had a blast touring Cartagena. Grateful to the sweet Colombian folks who cheered and encouraged me along the route when I was flagging!
