Last minute decision to come out and run this loop, with the decent cloud cover expected later in the day I decided to give it a go even though I wasn't adapted well to the heat yet. I got to the Park Office just after 3pm and saw my car temperature gauge reading 81 degree and full sun. I kept supplies to a limited amount, brought out a few snacks, 2L of water/capacity, emergency supplies (headlamp, meds, snacks) and stowed it all in my running vest. The run started off a bit slower than I wanted, the heat and the fact that 1/3rd of the elevation is gained in the first 5 miles didnt help anything. From there I just kept a steady pace and tried to remember to drink more water than I though I needed. I ended up stopping 3 times to transfer/filter water from my 1L filter bottle, luckily I only needed to filter from a stream once and carried water in it the rest of the time. By the last few miles of the run I knew I could potentially keep the run sub 4 hours, which led to me pushing the pace on the downhills and flats the best I could. Arrived back at the parking lot/park office area just before 7:21 and
