Ran the Aylesbury Walking route with my friend Andy today - socially distanced of course!
Started off very muddy and boggy and just got worse! Really difficult running conditions as despite wearing trail shoes I was slipping and sliding all over the place. Slight diversion necessary after only a few miles due to the path between two lakes/ponds being fenced off :( Long diversion around the edge of the fence and back along the canal added between 1-2km to the distance. Beautiful scenery at times, despite the mud, and was a nice route to do. And then we got to the final few miles. To say it was wet would be a huge understatement! Massive amounts of flooding to the point I was up to my knees in it quite a bit. Running was impossible so speed dropped to a stomp, and loss of feeling in feet and lower legs made running too difficult anyway :D
Finished in just over 2hrs 45, and will come back when it's drier to smash a good chunk of time off of that :)
