Had perfect conditions for the start, sun was out with an early morning frost meaning the trails were easy to grip and not too muddy until parts in the woods. A couple nav errors with not enough footpath markers but still found our way with GPX on hand (watch for initial check and phone for double check). The great company made the whole thing very enjoyable and easy going, till the last few miles where we got a move on to make the FKT! Both had a 2/3 gels, energy flapjack and a couple litres of fluids during the run. Plenty of places to refuel for subsequent attempts by others. A lovely finish at the canal, not the easiest point for transport links but only 2km back to Denham station and town for buses and trains. Would be nice to flip the route and end at Coombe Hill, lots more uphill that way and wouldn't be the official route, but maybe for a NOBO route variation?
