solo, one push, unsupported, church to church, did i miss any other keywords?
had been dreaming of this one for a while, went basically as good as it possibly could of. perfect conditions, took the right gear/clothes, 3l of water but only drank 2l, also didnt finish all the gels/haribos i took, could go lighter. wasnt very well rested going into it but the weather window didnt give me much choice.
pure mountain experience, start at the bottom, go to the top, finish back at the bottom, alone, no stashed gear, no water refills, no support, nothing, just me and the mountain. it felt epic.
was accosted on two seperate occasions by angry guides saying i didnt have enough gear with me, but i guess i’d be pissy too if i was guiding the gouter route.
shorts and t shirt up to tete rousse hut, then light trousers, sun hoody and helmet for the rest, mini crampons, harness, etc on from gouter upwards. stripped everything off at gouter on way down except helmet which i kept on till tete rousse again. also carried thin puffa jacket and light shell but didnt use either. probably couldn’t of left then behind as i needed them last time and forecast was nearly identical.
