Climb was pretty brutal, not helped by the fact my Garmin short changed me on the distance by about .2-.4 miles, so at about 5.00 miles I all but gave up on the FKT. After climbing in clouds in fog, punched out at the summit and witnessed what was almost certainly the greatest sunset of all time, and then nearly froze to death in the dark on the downhill.
Time was from the start of the single track at the end of the road with the camping on it. Downloaded Alex Garcia’s route and followed it. Time stopped with two feet on the observation platform. All consistent with Alex.
