Camped a little ways up gold camp, got dropped off at the top around 6. I picked a bad day to do this very exposed route, my Garmin Tempe recorded and average temp of 81, peaking at 109 on the paved section at the end. Started with 2.7l of water, filtered once just before hitting tunnel 4. Drank mostly tailwind, which I find refreshing even when the water is warm. Stopped a couple more times to grab water just to dump on myself. I feel like it was a good effort considering the heat, not completely satisfied but overall happy with my performance.
