**Camel's hump was ascended via the Forrest City trail and LT. The original route summited via burrows. After some talk between Arlee Hiskey and myself, we've decided that Forrest City/LT allows for a true up and over without a summit spur. It's also just a more aesthetic, challenging, and technical route IMO. This route ups the vert by ~800 ft, similar distance. This route now exists as a variation on FKT.**
Wet and Rainy for the attempt. Slight wrong turn (quickly corrected) just entering the Camel's Hump Nordic Center. Don't take the straight path toward Lions, take a left. Summit conditions cold and windy. Bamforth was an absolute river for the upper third and a lot of standing water after that. Probably left another 20-30 minutes out there with dryer conditions. The low humidity and cold temps were definitely in my favor however, so hard to tell.
Premier route!
