The route starts with a big long slog up the standard trail on Cartier. On my effort I burned a few too many matches on the way up Cartier and paid for it through the remainder of the outing. After the summit you drop down to some meadows which seems like ideal Grizzly habitat but, thankfully, there are so many black flies you can think of nothing other than them.

There is no defined route through the meadows, the talus or the bush on the way to Ghost Peak so you just need to sort of follow your nose. Eventually you will begin to gain some additional elevation toward the ridge and the familiar lines of the touring area adjacent to RMR. Following the ridge you will eventually cross into the resort itself and begin to see hikers, bikers and paragliders. Just follow the trail down to the gondola and enjoy a comfortable and free ride back to the base for a pint.

The route is short enough that you can carry your food with you. No need to carry much water as there are many creeks on the way up and good water in the meadows after the summit of Cartier.
