Great day to run! Started at the northern terminus (Lovell LN, Fitchburg, WI) at 5:50am and ended at the southern terminus (W State Line Rd, Jane Adams Trail) at 11:51am and change. I was crewed by my wife Jennifer (who I crewed/paced on this same trail in 2021), stopping three times at Belleville, Monticello, and Monroe for quick refuels (Skratch Lab/Spring Energy/Huma, and real food - banana bread/zucchini bread/potato chips/bananas/Coke). Mostly carried/swapped out 17oz Solomon soft flask handheld for liquid. Stewart Tunnel is still closed so used Tunnel Rd detour.
I run different segments of this trail frequently (including the Sugar Badger 50 earlier this year), and it’s always such a FUN time! So many vistas/views to enjoy in every season, fall being such a canopy of colors! As usual this time of year, walnuts and apples are literal landmines along the trail, and seemed significantly more so from Monroe to Clarno, so maneuvered around them carefully. Finished in the peace and quiet of the southern terminus and enjoyed the sounds of nature. Get after it - enjoy life!
