Ran unsupported from the lower TH to the upper and back down.
trip report
Going in: I should absolutely be able to -split this. 5hrs up, 4.5 down. Perfect plan. 🤣
3/4 up: Sub 10 sounds fine 🤣🤣
Upper TH at 5hrs 12min: maybe I can make it down on less than 6 hours? Sub 11 will do nicely🤣🤣🤣
Half way down: sub 12? Am I even going to get the record? Where am I? Is this the afterlife? 💀
Miles 46-52: I must be dead, everything feels amazing! 😇
Body’s still not right from the Oregon Coast Trail FKT. This was a rough day in the woods and not a step in the right direction. Having said that, I had a wildly fun time despite feeling like I was dying for the last 30 miles. I love FKT’s ✌️
bottom line (and not documented well) this trail is absolutely epic, and hard for a 52 miles without out a ton of gain. This trail is my backyard and is super special to me. Although I didnt run to my best ability, I’m super happy to have my name on the board for now. This is a great trip to practice a longer unsupported effort with plentiful water and lots of places to bail (maybe too many🤣) if needed. You should definitely go do this!
note* as a side quest, I accidentally took a busted befree and “filtered” from some questionable sources. I’m pretty sure there’s troubled waters ahead..
