Ran the full route from Emsworth to Milford-on-sea starting at 5am.
I stuck to the path as best I could, to my knowledge only deviating from it when there were diversions due to maintainance/construction work on the coastal path.
My attempt was solo and self-supported as I had no crew etc but I used public taps for water and used shops in Portsmouth, Lee on Solent, Hythe and Lymington for food and coke top ups
The route is nice: a mix of road, trail, gravel tracks and stone beaches at times. A good portion of it is next to the sea obviously so you have good views over to the Isle of Wight
There are 3 water crossings on the route, the ferry between Portsmouth and Gosport and the pink “ferry” (it’s a small boat) between Warsash and Hamble run often enough to not have to check before hand but the ferry between Southampton and Hythe sometimes only runs once an hour so make sure you time that well to avoid waiting around.
A fun but very tough day!
