I parked at Blue Mountain Inn and jogged over to the start of the trail. I went up and down once to warm up and also go over the route. A little over 2 miles total. I started just after 6 AM. I was pretty much out of breath and legs burning 30 seconds in. I ran as much as I could but I had to hike up the steep stuff. I did my best with my current fitness and arrived at the summit. I touched the sign and started heading down. Unfortunately, it rained the day before. So things were a little mucky and slick. I didn’t take too many chances but tried to descend at a fast pace. The waterfall was flowing faster than normal from the day prior. I tried to pick it up at the end and made it to the starting sign 1 second shy of 18 minutes. I’d like to give this another go at some point with greater fitness and dry conditions. It’s a great route! Short but steep. Cool down was the same as warmup which gave me about 6 miles for the workout. This is the shortest FKT I’ve done yet. It’s fun to do something totally different than your focus and shock the body. And that it did…
