I was hoping when I drove to Orillia, there wouldn't be snow on the trail. Luckly, I was right. It ended up being a beautiful day! I completed a 2 mile warmup with some drills. I ended up starting at 11:38 AM. I didn't want to go out too hard since I wasn't too confident with my fitness for this type of effort. I was getting close to the big road crossing and I saw lots of cars. I was lucky and only had to wait for a couple cars and it cost me maybe 5 seconds. No big deal. As I was getting closer to the turnaround, a guy warned me his wife was behind him and his dogs would not behave. It wasn't too big of a deal, just 3 small dogs barking their faces off at me with the lady screaming at them. I got to the casino and turned around. I made it past the dogs again and kept cruising. The road crossing didn't slow me down at all on the inbound leg. I was able to pick up the pace towards the end which was nice. I made it back to the parking lot gates and stopped my watch. Very happy with the effort and it made for a great day. Hopefully the weather holds out a little longer and I can sneak another FKT in:) Oh also, no liquids or fuel were carried.
