FKT days are the best days!

Chantal and I woke up super early to make the 45 min drive to Wasaga. We had a plan to leave the car at the start, then cool down back to the car after. We pulled an audible and switched ends when we realized we would be running into a strong headwind. Why not make it a tailwind? We stashed some liquid and calories for the finish so we would have energy to get back to the car after.

I got started at 5:44AM. I will fully admit, I’m not in my optimal shape for this type of effort currently, but in the spirit of the FKT, I absolutely gave it an honest/hard effort. I tried not to start too fast. After about 3 miles at the pace I was running, my legs told me they were pretty much done haha. Oh well, just keep running and hold on. And that’s what I did. Conditions were great. Sand was hard packed near the water. Beach was empty. I enjoyed the tailwind. I arrived at the end where the private property begins and that was a wrap. Happy to be done. Cooldown back to the car and head home for a nap. My longest and hardest “run” this year so far. Build off of this I hope:)
