Started at 5:37 ish. Ran solo for duration. Carried everything I needed. Used a coros apex to navigate and track. Route was 16.5 miles but I Ended up running 3/4 mile extra as I got turned around a few times. Especially on the front end running with headlamp.
No one ran with me. No result. Carried 2L hydration bladder and two soft flasks with Gatorade. Fueled with 2 100 cal espresso cliff bars, 1 honey stinger waffle, 2 welches fruit snacks, and 1 vanilla gu with caffeine. 99% humidity made this run way more challenging than I anticipated. I was longing for something cold to drink for the last 5k.
Just a fun training day on some new trails and different route than I’ve run before. Thanks Kirstin Woody Scott for mapping this out. I’ll likely enjoy it again sometime in cooler weather but I’m sure the FKT is sure to drop by others before I get back to it.
