I had very personal reasons for wanting to drive up to Vernonia to give this trail a go.
In 2011, I tried to transition to the marathon for my college (NAIA) track team, in hopes of going to nationals...I ran on pace here for about 16 miles but blew up so hard, I literally cried at points I was in so much pain. So I wanted to come back and take a stroll down that memory lane...
This is a local ROAD RUNNER's dream of an FKT. If you are training for a marathon, this is the perfect tune up 3-4 weeks out. This record should be down, in parallel with the fastest in race marathon times going down it, around near the 1:40s.
I had my go. it was fun to revisit this. I wont be back out on it. get after it speedsters.
