I have been wanting to do this one for so long. Stoked it finally went! Anyhow, noteworthy mentions here regarding my route:
1. I took a turn up a game trail up a gully next to Crumbaugh Lake as the trail takes that hard right turn this makes the route shorter to connect to Bumpass Hell Trail, but steeper.
2. I was forced to climb the boulders up to Bumpass Mountain instead of taking the Bumpass Hell Trail to Lake Helen because the trail is closed in that section until late August 2019 according to NPS signage (this was very likely much slower than the trail would have been, not recommended)
