Did the loop CCW starting at Necklace Valley TH, running up the forestry road to Foss Lakes TH and exiting at Necklace Valley TH. Had done the loop once before CW and felt CCW was a bit preferable.
Passed another runner around mile 11 who I did not know and also happened to be doing the loop CCW. She ran with me for around five minutes or so. I shared route beta with her as she had not done the loop before. Greeted multiple other hikers and backpackers along the way. Did not receive support from any parties.
Carried a half-liter soft flask and soft flask filter which I refilled multiple times along the way. Plenty of water along the route.
Overall, route finding went efficiently with only a few minor corrections needed. Was able to bushwhack/scramble down the NE flank of Iron Cap onto a grassy ledge which enabled a quick descent.
Weather was perfect in the 50 and 60s and very little wind. Ran in and out of clouds, but in general visibility was good.
Overall, an amazing loop and perfect day with beautiful fall weather and colors starting to show!!
