July 4th is my birthday. I started just after midnight and rode my bike to the trail head. I just call this trail red, white, and blue but some folks in town call it the Patriot. Fitting to run it on July 4th. Temps were cool and everything went well. I stopped for water once at the pump house and drank from the spigot. I saw deer, armadillo, and opossum. I had the trail to myself but that meant that I had to clear all the spider webs. I took a gnarly fall in that last mile but dusted myself off and finished it up.
Got back on the bike to ride 100 miles to my dad's house for a birthday dinner. Great birthday!
