Strava seems to have screwed up where it picked the start of the N2S segment and very generously subtracted 46 seconds from my time. My actual stopwatch time from the Q trail intersection to the gap in the stone wall at the South overlook was 59:19.
Otherwise, I'm very pleased and surprised by this run. Most importantly, I stayed vertical the entire time, which was my main concern about trying to run fast. (Well, it's not entirely true. After I finished I jogged back to cheer on ML, who was also making a [successful] FKT attempt, and I managed to catch a toe and take a tumble). It rained much of the day yesterday so the trails were pretty muddy, but the rocks were mostly dry, and since this trail is basically one big rock, I guess conditions were pretty fine.
