Background: Since 1983, the coastal Cape Cod town of Chatham has been my second home wherever I've been. I've spent many years cruising the waters around Ryders Cove (start) and setting up camp on the Forest Beach (finish) along Nantucket Sound. Super stoked this sprint route features lesser known historical sites of North and South Chatham (former Chatham Railroad, smallpox cemetery, conservation areas).
FKT: I chose to run the route during the #AntennaTrailChallenge, a virtual event to celebrate and support the 100 year anniversaries of the Chatham Marconi Maritime Center. It was a sunny day, though a nice headwind kept my pace at bay. Definitely plan to hang out at Forest Beach for a while after finishing to soak up the scenery, sand and warm ocean waters.
