Being local, I've done many training runs on the Heritage Trail. Flat and fast and absolutely beautiful, often running along a little creek and crossing over bridges. Started my run at 6am, 70 degrees and humid knowing that it would continue to heat up. I started with tons of water (3L) and a variety of calories (wraps, gels, etc.). I carried everything with me; nothing was stashed. I executed the plan perfectly, staying very consistent, and felt really good rolling into town where I met my boys and boyfriend to celebrate.
