Carissa and I set out from the gate on Rte 26 where the west side comes out at 628am. We reached the Old Speck parking area in 6 hours. The siren song to drink hot coffee we stashed at the lot and visit with some fellow runners was too great and we spent 20 mins or so there. West side was beautiful but we hit a bit of a wall as a team heading into the whitecap climb. We finished strong before dark just under the 12 hour mark.
