Had some climbing fitness in preparation for last weekend's race, so I wanted to challenge myself and hit this trail again with some speed and do it without stopping. Was unsure if I would do it today because it's July 4th! It was 80 degrees at the start and finished in the upper 80's/low 90's in the shade. Did this alone and unsupported. Carried electrolytes, gels and water in my pack. The run went better than expected other than it being rediculously hot and humid. I didn't stop for any pics because I had a time goal and I knew if I stopped the bugs would get me.
