Was in South Dakota for a family vacation filled with lots of hiking! Found out about Black Elk Peak, saw it was an FKT route, and decided to give it a try. Beautiful weather, super fun route, climbing stairs to the top of the tower! (Wasn’t sure if the tower was considered the peak so I did a little extra exploring at the top to be sure it was!) Took time at the top to “enjoy every step” and snap a few pictures before hustling on down!
