Took on the Guardian Peak Trifecta as a little early birthday present to myself. Started at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood for summit #1 at 12:40am. Conditions were icy, but the weather was perfect. Enjoyed a trek up the Old Chute and sunrise at the summit for a total time of 7:08:36, Afterwards I drove from Timberline to the South Side climb TH on Mt. Adams. Changed, repacked, and started for summit #2 at 10:19am. It was a blistering hot day (literally) with no wind. The snow was the consistency of a 7/11 slurpee, but trekked onward for a total time of 7:45:51.Got heat sickness, but thankfully my partner was at the TH to drive me to the final summit so I could manage symptoms on the way. Arrived at the Climber's Bivouac TH on Mt. St. Helens after making a stop for supplies and took off for summit #3 at 9:49pm. My partner joined me for this last summit (his first time on the mountain!). The snow was already super slick, thus decided to take the boulder route up. My headlamp died on the way up, so route finding was an experience. Made our way over to the true summit and back down for a total time of 7:15:06. Got to see my second sunrise of this adventure on the way down, and that was truly magical.
I've had my heart set on doing this project since its inception. Mountaineering and trail running are my two greatest passions, and completing this route was a dream come true.
