Solo, unsupported out-and-back starting at Anthony Lakes. Felt pretty good, but not great for the N-S leg (still feeling the effects of a big move last week, I think). Return trip S-N felt...not so great, slowed by pretty severe dehydration issues. More on that aspect: the crux of the route is definitely water management. There's only one reliable water source on the Crest and while I've used it many times, I still managed to misremember its location. It's at approximately mile 10 and 35.5 if doing the out-and-back from Anthony. I thought it would be closer to mile 15 and 31 (a good reminder to review maps and not rely on memory). Big difference going 25+ miles between water sources instead of 16. Stuffed some snow in my bottles around Rock Creek Butte to supplement, but that isn't an option later in the season, so I would highly recommend either carrying a larger capacity bladder to fill the first time past the water source, or do the route supported with a water drop at Marble Pass.
