I started early and caught a taxi to the start location. The first few kms are through a town and then it gets onto the main trail which is a lot of up hills. There is some easy scrambling after about 45 minutes which is very fun. From there the trail opens up and you get the most amazing views of the Alborz mountains and Tehran city. The scenery goes from emerald green hills, lets of rocky paths and finally the semi steep scree section to the summit. There was a dog there who really wanted to eat my sandwich.
There were maybe another 50 people on the mountain and people were super friendly and wanted to talk to me as there aren't many caucasian tourists in Iran and a bunch of teenagers gifted me a lemon. There was no water on the route and I brought a few sandwiches.
Most people get the cable car back down but I hiked down and ran at some points.
