I will write a full report and post on joeycamps.blogspot.com in a few days
But in short. I camped at the West Blacks Fork trailhead with my girlfriend Kym. Started route @730am Friday August 27th. Kym drove around to pick me up at finish. It was smokey and windy, but otherwise gorgeous weather. I actually felt really good. My legs got heavy going up West Gunsight, and I felt sleepy. Two fifteen minute naps did the trick. I moved well through the night. From 2-7am along the Kings ridge, there was a strong steady WSW wind(cross). This dried out my right eye contact, and irritated the eye. From ~4am to the finish I had trouble seeing out of my right eye. This lead to even more bashing of the feet while traveling across the loose talus and boulders. I faded at the end with fatigue, vision problem, and pain, but hustled in. Finished at Swift Creek TH Saturday August 28th at 11:08am. I collapsed in the van and have struggled to move much saturday or sunday. Im not sure my feet have ever hurt this much. Otherwise not too sore. Its an amazing route. Check it! Do it over a few days camping, also can make it a loop.
