First attempt at setting the Upper Mississippi Bluff-to-Bluff-to-Bluff FKT. Set out early on Thursday morning to try to avoid the heat and humidity of the day. From the start, at the flag pole on top of Grand Dad's Bluff, it was very humid and foggy. Once I reached the top of Eagle Bluff the fog lifted for a beautiful view of La Crescent and the Mississippi. When I completed this attempt, by once again touching the flag pole on top of Grand Dad's Bluff, it was a beautiful, sunny day. You could see the entire route including Eagle Bluff from the finish line, which was a super cool way to cap off this FKT.
This was a fully solo, unsupported attempt and I packed all of my own food and water for the run. This attempt went better than expected and I ran much faster than anticipated, beating the previous FKT by almost an hour.
