We started just after 8am in Carrog. The forecast said the weather would be perfect - not too hot, not too cold, a bit cloudy, a bit sunny.
We followed the anticlockwise route and went up Moel Fferna first where it was super foggy. The first few miles went really well - until the sun came out. Clouds were not to see at all - that day was a scorcher! The ground was super dry and fell shoes unfortunately the wrong decision for once.
We stopped after 26.1miles at the Ponderosa for an ice lolly and it was boiling by then. The last hills after the Ponderosa nearly killed us - a combination of a lot of elevation, tired legs and a boiling sun was definitely tough on us. And finally on the last mile we also hit a "field of nettles" - the path was very overgrown which resulted in us ending with tingly legs.
All in all a very enjoyable day!
