Using the 2020 version of the Drachenlauf course, before start/finish was moved to Rosenau. This has the advantage of having the car park en route, and not having to hike into the course first. Two laps, one standard direction (clockwise) and one in reverse (counter-clockwise). Stopped at the car after lap 1 for food and drink.
Improvement potential for future attempts:
- Don't do the reverse loop, or do it as the first lap. The reverse course has more gentle climbs that are hard to run fast on tired legs; better to do the standard direction and hike the (steeper) climbs. Should save 5-10 minutes.
- Don't do it in summer. Less water to carry, and no need to bushwhack through stinging nettles and blackberry vines on the ascent to Ölberg. Should also yield up to 10 minutes.
- Less stopping for photos. Save a few minutes.
